Breaking

The studio behind Frostpunk 2 and The Alters filed a notice with investors today confirming a new licensing deal with Microsoft: three games from its publishing lineup, all due in 2027, are headed to Game Pass. The names aren't official yet, but 11 bit only has three announced publishing projects right now. Here's what the filing says, what it doesn't, and the three games everybody is pointing at.

Game Pass just picked up three more games for 2027, and they’re coming from one of the most respected indie publishers in the business.

11 bit studios, the Polish studio behind Frostpunk, This War of Mine and The Alters, told investors in an official filing that it signed a licensing agreement with Microsoft Corporation on November 3, 2026. The deal lets Microsoft offer three titles from 11 bit’s publishing portfolio, all scheduled for release in 2027, as part of Game Pass. The filing hit the company’s investor relations site and Polish financial news today, Wednesday, November 4.

Three titles from the Company’s publishing portfolio, scheduled for release in 2027.

What you need to know

  • Who: 11 bit studios S.A. and Microsoft Corporation.
  • What: A licensing agreement to make three games available in Game Pass.
  • Which games: Three titles from 11 bit’s publishing lineup (games it publishes for outside indie studios). The filing does not name them.
  • When: All three are scheduled to release in 2027. No Game Pass dates were given.
  • Who owns the games: 11 bit does. Per the filing, “the rights to the games will remain with the Company.”
  • Money: Not disclosed. 11 bit says confidentiality rules keep it from sharing “the detailed terms of the agreement, including its schedule and financial terms.”

The filing, Current Report No. 27/2026, was posted under the EU’s inside information rules (Article 17(1) of the MAR regulation), which is why a deal like this shows up as a stock market notice instead of a big trailer drop. 11 bit says the agreement “may have an impact on the Company’s financial results in subsequent reporting periods,” and that it reported it quickly “in line with the Company’s established practice of reporting agreements relating to the Game Pass programme.”

That last line matters. This isn’t 11 bit’s first Game Pass deal, and it says so itself.

The three games everybody is pointing at

The filing doesn’t name the games, so treat this part as unconfirmed. But the math is pretty simple. Polish news agency ISBnews, in its report on the deal, noted that 11 bit has officially announced three new publishing projects: Volatiles, Trainwatch and Crop. X account @IdleSloth84_, which spotted the filing early, made the same call, and it’s the first thing fans landed on.

Here’s what each one is, straight from 11 bit’s own announcements:

  • Crop (developer: Carbonara Games, a three-person team from Norway). Announced April 9, 2026. 11 bit calls it a “gritty farming thriller” that takes the cozy farming sim and drags it into “the surreal territory of Lynch and Lovecraft, with plenty of dirt, blood, and pesticides along the way.” You’re bound to a fading homestead, feeding a starving village that’s been cut off from the world, and trying to figure out why you were brought there. Listed for 2027.
  • Trainwatch (developer: Harvester Games). Announced August 18, 2026, and described as a psychological thriller. 11 bit has dated the PC (Steam) release for March 10, 2027. No console date has been announced yet.
  • Volatiles (developer: Team Instant Defeat). Announced October 8, 2026, and described as a top-down action roguelike. No release date yet.

Again: 11 bit has not said these are the three Game Pass games. If they are, that’s a horror farming sim, a psychological thriller and a roguelike, which is a pretty strong spread for a subscription.

11 bit and Game Pass go way back at this point. As Xbox community account @MauroNL3 pointed out while the news spread, 11 bit’s earlier Game Pass releases include Frostpunk 2, The Alters, Indika, Death Howl and Creatures of Ava. So when 11 bit signs for three more, Game Pass members already have a good idea of the kind of games it picks.

OnPoint’s take: This is the kind of Game Pass news that doesn’t get a showcase but should get your attention. 11 bit doesn’t put out filler. Frostpunk 2 and The Alters were real games with real ideas, and now we’re getting three more of their picks locked in for 2027 before most people have even heard of them. Crop alone sounds like nightmare fuel in the best way: a farming sim where the farm is the horror? Sign us up. This is the value pitch in action. You don’t have to gamble $30 on an indie you saw in one trailer, it just shows up in the library. Xbox keeps stacking 2027, and that’s a W for Game Pass members on Series X|S and PC.
