Ubisoft just dropped its Fall 2026 Assassin’s Creed update, and the headline for Xbox and PC players is simple: Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is getting New Game+ on November 5. The update went up on the official Assassin’s Creed X account at 1:00 PM ET today with a video from Jean Guesdon, the franchise’s Head of Content, plus a full article.

Ubisoft said ahead of time there would be no major reveals, and they kept that promise. But there’s real news in here: a firm date for Valhalla New Game+, the end of big updates for Black Flag Resynced, a rework for the multiplayer project Invictus, Hexe going quiet until 2027, and Ubisoft saying no other Assassin’s Creed remake is in active development right now.

What you need to know

  • Valhalla New Game+: Arrives November 5. Valhalla recently passed 40 million players, and New Game+ is the celebration.
  • Black Flag Resynced: Its final major content update is out (New Game+, Nightmare difficulty, new rewards). Smaller quality-of-life updates continue.
  • Codename Invictus (multiplayer): Still in development, being adjusted after a private test.
  • Codename Hexe: Still in progress. Next major update comes in 2027.
  • Remakes: No other Assassin’s Creed remake is in active development right now.
  • Netflix series: Production is nearing completion in Rome. No release date yet.
  • 20th anniversary: Celebrations planned for 2027, plus a new community survey live today.

Valhalla New Game+: everything coming November 5

Ubisoft confirmed the date in a reply on X: “November 5th!” Here’s what’s in the update, per the Fall 2026 update as reported by Twisted Voxel and Xboxygen:

Valhalla gets New Game+ six years later. Ubisoft is finally listening, now show us Hexe.

  • Start Eivor’s story over while keeping most of your existing progression.
  • Dedicated New Game+ scaling so enemies keep up with you.
  • Optional progression mode where your gear, runes and masteries feed into Eivor’s overall power.
  • New runes, new achievements, a stash system and new rewards.
  • Master Assassin outfit inspired by Naoe’s look in Assassin’s Creed Shadows.
  • Mithril, a new resource for upgrading Divine Gear and strengthening runes. Divine Gear quality is also coming to all items.

Ubisoft says full patch notes are coming, including details on current-gen console updates. Those new achievements matter for Xbox players hunting Gamerscore. Fans have been asking for this since Valhalla launched in 2020, and one popular reply under Ubisoft’s post put it plainly: “We got new game plus in Valhalla before GTA 6.”

Black Flag Resynced is done with big updates

Black Flag Resynced, which launched July 9 and is on Xbox Series X|S and PC, got its final major content update on October 27 (Title Update 1.0.8). It added:

  • New Game+ up to New Game+ 5, with an extra difficulty modifier each run. You keep gear, weapons, Jackdaw and ship upgrades, pets, currency, cosmetics, Hideout and Kenway Fleet progress.
  • Nightmare difficulty with harder hitting, faster enemies, tighter parry and dodge windows and sharper detection. You can toggle it separately for combat, stealth, naval and activities.
  • New rewards including Blackbeard’s outfit, Edward’s London attire and more Jackdaw and crew customization.

Ubisoft says that wraps its plans for major added content, with quality-of-life updates continuing over the coming months. Per Push Square, Resynced has sold over 3.5 million units.

Invictus gets a rework, Hexe goes quiet until 2027

Codename Invictus, the multiplayer Assassin’s Creed, ran a private Insiders Session with hundreds of players. Ubisoft says testers liked the parkour, map verticality, team play and playing as different Assassin’s Creed characters. But players also wanted it to feel more like Assassin’s Creed, so the team has spent recent months adjusting it. Ubisoft also warned that info about Invictus floating around online may be incomplete or outdated.

Codename Hexe, described as a darker Assassin’s Creed experience, is still progressing. The next major update on it lands in 2027. No setting, gameplay or release window was shared today.

No more remakes in active development (for now)

Ubisoft said no other Assassin’s Creed remake is in active development. Teams are focused on upcoming games, including ones not announced yet, but Ubisoft left the door open to revisiting older games later. That cools down the talk of an Assassin’s Creed 1 remake or another Resynced-style project right after Black Flag.

Netflix series, 20th anniversary and a fan survey

  • Netflix’s live-action series is nearing the end of production in Rome. Guesdon visited the set, consulted on scripts and met the team. Composer Hannah Peel is scoring it. The story is set in Rome in 64 AD, per Ubisoft’s March announcement. No release date.
  • 20th anniversary in 2027: Ubisoft is planning announcements, updates, rewards and community events.
  • Community survey: Live now, asking about the series’ identity, storytelling, lore and communication. Ubisoft also plans closed-door workshops with community members and creators later this year.

OnPoint’s take: What people are missing here is the pattern. Black Flag Resynced got New Game+ and Nightmare mode, Valhalla gets New Game+ six years later, and Invictus is getting reworked because players said it didn’t feel like Assassin’s Creed. That’s a Ubisoft actually listening, and Xbox and PC players eat good from it, with new achievements in Valhalla and a reason to reinstall before GTA VI takes over everyone’s hard drive on November 19. The tough part is Hexe. The darker Assassin’s Creed fans have been waiting on is now quiet until 2027, which basically lines up with the 20th anniversary. Our guess: that’s where Ubisoft wants its big swing. And the no-remakes line is interesting right after Resynced sold 3.5 million. Ubisoft is saying it wants new games, not just reheated ones. We’re good with that, as long as Hexe delivers.
