G’AIM’E TIME CRISIS Lightgun Ultimate Bundle Long-Term Review: Arcade Nostalgia Hits Home
When I first got my hands on the G’AIM’E light gun system at GDC playing Time Crisis, that classic arcade rush came flooding back and I was instantly hooked. But the real magic happened when the Ultimate Bundle arrived at our house. After setting it up and living with it for several months with the whole family, I can honestly say this thing has been one of the most fun additions to our living room in a long time.
The G’AIM’E TIME CRISIS Lightgun Ultimate Bundle (officially licensed by Bandai Namco) includes two light guns, the action pedal, the mini-console pre-loaded with four games (Time Crisis, Point Blank, Steel Gunner, and Steel Gunner 2), plus premium extras like the collectible acrylic diorama stand, keychain, and multi-region power adapter. It uses advanced AI technology with a high-resolution camera in each gun barrel for accurate tracking on modern LCD/LED TVs and projectors (15” to 150”+).
Setup & Calibration
Setup could not be simpler. Plug it in, and a slick guided video walks you through the whole process. The most important part is knowing the recommended distance for your TV size so you can calibrate the guns properly. For our pretty big TV, we positioned things to reach behind the sofa. Thankfully, the gun and pedal cables are generously long (around 13 feet / 4 meters), so we had no problem.
Calibration is important. You will want to take your time with the guided targets using the iron sights. Do it right for each gun/player, and the tracking is reliable and responsive. Each person generally needs their own calibration, especially when switching between adults and kids. In the settings, you can adjust difficulty for every game (Easy, Medium, Hard) and change the screen borders for 4:3 aspect ratio (white, black, or pink) to help the camera read the edges cleanly depending on your room setup. It’s thoughtful touches like that that make it feel polished.
Gameplay Impressions
Time Crisis is still the absolute highlight. The pedal brings back that perfect duck-in-and-out-of-cover tension from the arcade, and unlimited continues mean we finally got to see the full story. Something kid-me never managed! It takes under an hour to roll credits, but we keep coming back to chase better times and relive the later stages.
Point Blank delivers pure chaotic joy. It's a huge collection of bite sized mini games, many under 30 seconds long, where you compete with another person trying to complete the objective.The little ones light up taking turns and trying to outscore each other, while the rest of us get way too competitive. It is endlessly replayable and perfect for short, laugh-filled sessions.
Steel Gunner 1 and 2 really shine with the two guns included in the Ultimate Bundle. Co-op feels authentic, the action is satisfying, and those short arcade runs are ideal for quick competitions or teaming up. The whole family gets involved. Players and spectators alike, with plenty of cheering, joking, and one more round moments.
Family Fun & Build Quality
What I love most is how this setup has become part of our regular rotation. We keep the Ultimate Bundle plugged in and ready because you never know when the mood will strike for a quick game. The guns feel sturdy and comfortable, the pedal stays firmly in place, and the diorama looks sharp on display. After months of regular use, everything still feels fresh and reliable. No wear, no fuss.
The experience is fantastic overall. Dual guns open up real co-op and easy multiplayer, the arcade feel is spot-on, it is genuinely fun for mixed ages, the extras are a nice touch, and once calibrated it just works beautifully. The long cables support comfortable play on bigger TVs, and the whole package feels well made.
What's Next? I Have Some Thoughts...
This feels like just the beginning, and I am genuinely excited for what could come next. I would love to see calibration profiles so each family member can quickly select their settings without recalibrating every time.
A Time Crisis 2 bundle with dual pedals for true two-player arcade co-op would be incredible. More IP bundles like House of the Dead, Area 51, or Virtua Cop would be amazing, and bringing this tech to consoles or PC (imagine playing something like Halo: Fireteam Raven with these guns) could open up a whole new world.
I am here for it and rooting hard for G’AIM’E to expand. They have the foundation to revive so many light gun memories, and I cannot wait to see where they take it.

This bundle has brought so much joy and nostalgia into our home. It is the kind of thing that gets everyone (Kids, teens, and adults) laughing and competing together. If you grew up loving light gun games or you are looking for something fresh and engaging for family game nights or a fun night at home with some friends, the Ultimate Bundle is a winner.

I got the chance to use this light gun mini console, and it was honestly TONS of fun. Point Blank was low-key underrated, and Time Crisis is the easy stand-out. A fun package, overall, that provides a good amount of fun, even if the library can be a tad light at times. Great review, CMoney!
