Xbox has done wild custom consoles before, but this one bites. In a new Xbox Wire post, Team Xbox revealed the Xbox Series X-BITE, and the pitch is exactly what it sounds like: “an alligator swallowed an XBOX Series X whole. And yes, it still works.”

What it is

Per Xbox Wire:

  • A real, working Xbox Series X sits inside a custom alligator that measures more than five feet from snout to tail.
  • You can see the console through an illuminated Xbox Nexus in the gator’s body.
  • In its jaws: a custom Xbox Wireless Controller with bite marks, plus Xbox-green irises and Nexus-inspired pupils on the gator itself.
  • It was built by John Nolan Studio, the creature and animatronics shop whose credits include The Witcher, Jurassic World Dominion and HBO’s upcoming Harry Potter series. The studio handled the 3D modeling, sculpting and fabrication.
  • Only one exists.

The fine print has some fun in it too: “No actual alligators were used or harmed in the making of this console.” Xbox also labels it “Best as display only,” so maybe don’t plan on hauling it to a friend’s house for game night.

Xbox says the idea came from heading to Florida this November, “home to incredible wildlife, unforgettable places, and every now and then, stories you have to see to believe.” IGN pointed out the timing on X too, noting the reveal lands “with GTA 6 mere weeks away from launch” (IGN on X).

How to enter

You can enter on X, Instagram or TikTok. Per Xbox Wire:

  1. Follow @XBOX on the platform you pick.
  2. Repost the official Xbox sweepstakes post.
  3. Manually add #XbiteSweepstakes to your repost.
  4. Keep your account public so Xbox can see your entry.

The dates and rules that matter

  • Runs: 9:00 AM PT (12:00 PM ET) on November 3, 2026 through 11:59 PM PT on November 10, 2026 (2:59 AM ET on November 11).
  • Who can enter: 18 and older. Xbox Wire says it’s open to legal residents of the 50 U.S. states and D.C., and the @XBOX post lists “US/DC/PR 18+.” The official rules also include Puerto Rico, and they’re the final word.
  • No purchase necessary.
  • If you win: you’ll have 48 hours to claim the prize. Miss it and, in Xbox’s words, “this gator makes a clean getaway.” Keep your notifications on.

People are eating it up

The official @XBOX entry post has pulled in more than 4.2 million views and over 52,000 likes since it went up Tuesday, per X’s public counts at the time of writing (@XBOX). Culture Crave, IGN and ScreenTime all picked it up within hours.

OnPoint’s take: This is Xbox marketing having fun again, and we’re here for it. Custom one-off consoles have been an Xbox thing for years, and the X-BITE is one of the most out-there yet: real creature-shop craftsmanship, a working Series X inside, and a free shot at winning it for one repost. It also lands right as the biggest game launch in years gets close, which keeps the Series X in the conversation at the right time. Go enter. Worst case, you scroll past a lot of alligators this week.
