Insider NateTheHate says Rockstar has started sending Grand Theft Auto VI to reviewers, with scores dropping the day before launch.
Grand Theft Auto VI reviews could be just over three weeks away. Industry insider NateTheHate posted on X today, October 26, that “Rockstar Games have begun to distribute review code of Grand Theft Auto 6 to media outlets,” adding that the “Review embargo is November 18th.”
Rockstar has not announced a review date, so treat this as unconfirmed for now. What is confirmed: Rockstar has GTA VI launching November 19 on Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5, with digital preloads starting November 12. If NateTheHate is right, reviews hit the internet one day before the game unlocks.
OnPoint’s take: This tracks. Code going out about three weeks early is exactly what a publisher does when it’s confident, and a day-before embargo means Rockstar wants the hype and the scores landing on top of each other. For Xbox players, this is the biggest launch of the generation, and Series X owners are about to eat good. We’ll have the review roundup the minute that embargo lifts. Clear your schedule for the 19th, fam.
Update (1:20 PM ET): Insider Gaming, Tom Henderson’s outlet, now says it “can independently verify reports that GTA 6 reviews will go out on November 18,” the day before the November 19 launch. That makes two separate insider sources lined up on the same date. Rockstar still has not announced the embargo officially, so this stays a rumor until it does. Our read: two well-sourced insiders saying the same thing is about as close to locked as it gets without a Rockstar post. Mark November 18 on the calendar.
