Editions and prices

Standard Edition: $59.99 / €59.99

  • Cosmic Turtle Companion (pre-order bonus)
  • 96 hours of early access
  • Owners of the original Titan Quest on Xbox get a 10% loyalty discount

Ultimate Edition: $79.99 / €79.99

  • Cosmic Turtle Companion (pre-order bonus)
  • 96 hours of early access
  • The original Titan Quest plus its Ragnarök and Atlantis expansions, playable right away when you pre-order

How it plays

  • Build your own class: pick two of six Masteries (Earth, Storm, Warfare, Rogue, Forge and Spirit) and combine them. That’s 15 combinations before you even look at gear.
  • Skill modifiers can change how a skill works entirely, like turning a sweeping strike into a channeled whirlwind.
  • Respec any time for a little gold.
  • No gear locks: any hero can use any weapon or armor. Plate armor with a frost staff is fine.
  • Deliberate combat: enemies fight in factions and combine abilities, so dodging and positioning matter. Health potions refill as you deal damage.
  • Rituals let you set the difficulty yourself.
  • Loot with purpose: socket Charms and Relics, and craft to reroll, add or upgrade affixes.
  • Co-op: explore Greece with friends online.
  • The world: handcrafted ancient Greece, from the Arkadian Plains and the Wild Lands to Mount Olympus, with centaurs, gryphons and cyclopes, and a divine mount named Areion.

In the developers’ words

“Combat is deliberate rather than frantic,” the THQ Nordic and Grimlore teams wrote on Xbox Wire. They also pointed to IGN Germany calling the Early Access version “the ARPG for everyone who finds Diablo too hectic,” and added: “we’ll happily take that.”

OnPoint’s take: January is shaping up nicely for Xbox ARPG fans. Titan Quest II has had over a year of Early Access on PC to get polished with community feedback, so Xbox players are getting the finished version, not the rough draft. The two-Mastery class system is the hook, and putting the original Titan Quest and both expansions in the Ultimate Edition is a real bonus for anyone who missed it. If you want loot and builds without the chaos, this one is worth watching.
