Sony Interactive Entertainment and developer Oh BiBi just pulled the plug on Ratchet & Clank: Ranger Rumble, the free-to-play mobile multiplayer arena shooter that soft-launched in select regions and never made it to a full worldwide release.

The official site posted the final update today, Friday, November 6, 2026:

“We’ve made the difficult decision to cease development of Ratchet & Clank: Ranger Rumble.”

Per Gematsu, it is a free-to-play multiplayer arena shooter published by Sony Interactive Entertainment and developed by Oh BiBi. VGC reports the project was developed in partnership with Insomniac Games. Soft launch began in the Philippines and Indonesia in November 2025, then Norway, Sweden, Finland and Denmark in December 2025, Canada in May 2026, and the United Kingdom in August 2026, per Gematsu. VGC also lists France among the soft-launch regions. It never got a full global launch.

What you need to know

  • Final update: rolling out November 6, 2026 on the Apple App Store and Google Play.
  • No more updates: none planned after November 7, 2026.
  • Store delist: November 21, 2026. New players cannot download it after that. Existing players can reinstall until then.
  • End of service: May 1, 2027. Servers permanently shut down. The game will not load after that.
  • Play until then: installed players keep modes, matchmaking and competitive features through May 1, 2027.
  • Qwark Pass: seasons continue until May 1. Super Pass is now free. Unclaimed rewards stay claimable until shutdown.
  • Purchases: in-app purchases are removed. Currency earned or bought can still be spent until May 1.
  • Refunds: through Apple or Google, based on store eligibility.
  • Data: all player data wiped May 1, 2027. Progress and items are not transferable to any other game.
  • Pre-registration rewards: land in Inbox with the November 7 update.
  • Other Ratchet titles: the shutdown does not affect other Ratchet & Clank games or PlayStation services, per the official FAQ.

Soft launch timeline

Per Gematsu’s rundown of the soft launch window:

  • November 2025: Philippines and Indonesia (alongside the announcement)
  • December 2025: Norway, Sweden, Finland, Denmark
  • May 2026: Canada
  • August 2026: United Kingdom
  • Also named by VGC: France

About a year of staggered soft launches. No worldwide release. Now a hard stop.

What the team said

Beyond the cancel line, the official update thanks players who stuck with the soft launch:

“On behalf of the dev team and everyone helping to make the game, thanks to our amazing community for all your support, especially to those who have spent time playing, sharing feedback, and helping shape Ranger Rumble throughout its development!”

VGC notes the original pitch called it a “fast-paced multiplayer platformer arena shooter,” with players jumping, dashing, grinding and collecting bolts as Galactic Rangers under Captain Qwark’s watch.

OnPoint’s take: Sony soft-launched a Ratchet mobile F2P shooter across regions for about a year, then killed it before a real global launch. That is another PlayStation live-service that never stuck the landing. Platform health is not just exclusives on a stage. It is finishing what you start. Xbox fans get another reminder of that today.
