Modern Warfare 4 and Warzone Season 1 went live at 12:00 AM ET Friday, November 6, 2026 (9:00 PM PT Thursday, November 5). Maps, Battle Pass and the full Warzone integration are rolling. We already covered the content dump on October 29. The fresh news in today’s patch notes is the crackdown on Warzone Agent.

What you need to know

Official Call of Duty Season 1 patch notes (Warzone and Modern Warfare 4 pages, verified live) call out Warzone Agent under unauthorized third-party software. Dexerto, Dot Esports and MP1st also reprinted the same enforcement wording:

“Warzone Agent is an unauthorized, paid third-party application that enables “lobby shopping,” allowing players to assess lobby skill levels during pre-match warm-ups and avoid more competitive matches in favor of easier ones. While Warzone Agent does not provide traditional cheating functionality, such as aimbots or wallhacks, it creates an unfair advantage, undermines competitive integrity, and violates our Terms of Use.”

Beginning with Season 1, enforcement measures are:

  • Software Detection: players attempting to launch or access Warzone while running Warzone Agent get a notification to close the unauthorized software.
  • Access Restrictions: players who do not close it are blocked from Multiplayer modes. Campaign access remains unaffected.
  • Enforcement: players who try to circumvent the restrictions and keep using the software may face temporary or permanent account and/or hardware bans.

The notes close the section with this line:

“Maintaining a fair and competitive environment is a priority for us. While unauthorized tools may not always resemble traditional cheats, any software that provides an unfair advantage undermines the experience for other players. We’ll continue taking action against tools and behaviors that compromise the integrity of Warzone.”

How lobby shopping worked (and why CoD cares)

Warzone Agent is framed in the notes as a paid third-party app. It does not claim aimbot or wallhack features. Its pitch, per Activision’s own language, is reading lobby skill during pre-match warm-ups so players can dodge harder matches and queue into easier ones.

That still breaks Terms of Use under the Season 1 policy. RICOCHET’s response is detection first, mode lock second, bans if you try to go around it.

No ban totals or enforcement numbers were published in the notes we are citing. Do not invent any.

Season 1 is live (quick context)

Season 1 is the free content drop that integrates Modern Warfare 4 into Warzone, with new maps, modes, weapons and systems. Full rundown of maps, DMZ’s X01, Battle Pass and more is in our October 29 Season 1 preview. Today’s story is the anti-cheat policy, not a second content dump.

OnPoint’s take: Fair lobbies matter for Xbox and PC Warzone players. Going after lobby shopping, not just aimbots, is a player-first move. If you paid for a tool to dodge real competition, Season 1 just made that a lot harder. Drop with the rest of us.
