PC Is Now Capcom’s Biggest Platform as Record Half Year Hits 36.86 Million Games Sold

Capcom's sales jumped 49% in its first half, PC digital sales alone made up 57.1% of every unit sold, and Pragmata cleared 2.7 million copies.

Capcom is on a heater, and PC players are the ones carrying it. The publisher posted results for the six months ended September 30, 2026, and net sales climbed 49.0% to 120.887 billion yen, with operating profit up 54.5% to 60.769 billion yen.

Capcom sold 36.86 million game units in the half, up from 23.85 million a year ago. Here’s the split from Capcom’s own results presentation:

  • PC digital: 21.03 million units (57.1%)
  • Console digital: 13.02 million units (35.3%)
  • Physical: 2.81 million units (7.6%)

That puts digital at 92.4% of everything Capcom sold. New IP Pragmata, out in April on Xbox Series X|S and PC, passed 2.7 million units, and Onimusha: Way of the Sword passed 1.7 million. Capcom says catalog sales led by Resident Evil were strong, and it’s aiming for 65 million units for the full fiscal year.

OnPoint’s take: This is crazy. More than half of every Capcom game sold this half went to PC, and that’s exactly why Xbox’s play-anywhere, Xbox-plus-PC push is the right bet. The future isn’t one box under the TV, it’s your library following you from Series X to your gaming rig. Capcom just put the receipts on the table. And Pragmata doing 2.7 million as a brand-new IP? That’s a W for new ideas. Are you playing Capcom on Xbox or PC? Let us know.
