Game Pass Ultimate, Premium and Essential members can play four games free through Sunday, Dead by Daylight is free for every Xbox player through Monday, and everything is on sale if you want to keep it.
Halloween weekend on Xbox comes with a free soulslike, a free horror classic and a free space shooter. Xbox kicked off this week’s Free Play Days on October 29, per Xbox Wire, with five games to try, and one of them doesn’t need any membership at all.

- Keep your progress: buy the game during the event and you keep your Gamerscore and achievements, per Xbox Wire.

How to start playing
- On console: open the Xbox Store, go to the Subscriptions tab and scroll to the Free Play Days collection on Xbox Series X|S or Xbox One.
- On the web: find each game’s page on Xbox.com and click through to the Microsoft Store. Sign in to see the install option that comes with your Game Pass membership.
- Dead by Daylight just needs an Xbox account, no Game Pass required.
OnPoint’s take: This is a strong Halloween lineup. WUCHANG is the headliner for us: a gorgeous soulslike with a dark setting, and a free weekend is the perfect way to see if it’s your speed before dropping cash. Dead by Daylight being free for everyone is a nice touch on Halloween weekend, and EVERSPACE 2 at $9.99 is a steal if it grabs you. This is the Game Pass value pitch in action. Try it free, keep your achievements, buy it cheap if you love it.
