Rockstar Drops Brand New GTA 6 Gameplay Inside a South Park Episode, and Yes, It’s Dog Poop

Jason and Lucia walk a crowded Vice City beach behind a German Shepherd in new GTA 6 gameplay shown on South Park

Three weeks out from launch, Rockstar handed South Park about 17 seconds of never-before-seen GTA VI footage. Jason picks up dog poop on a packed Vice City beach and throws it at a guy, and the credits confirm Rockstar supplied it.

Nobody had this on their bingo card. The newest look at Grand Theft Auto VI didn’t come from a Rockstar trailer or a YouTube premiere. It came from South Park. The show’s Season 29 episode that aired Wednesday, October 28, cut to about 17 seconds of brand new GTA VI gameplay, and the end credits read “Grand Theft Auto VI footage courtesy of Rockstar Games, Inc.” This is real footage of the real game, and it lands three weeks before GTA VI launches November 19 on Xbox Series X|S.

The key facts

  • Where: South Park Season 29, episode 4, “Guinea Pig on a Stick,” which aired October 28 on Comedy Central (per Radio Times, Vice and GTA BOOM; Polygon’s write-up names the episode “Beef Battle”).
  • How long: about 17 seconds of gameplay, per Radio Times.
  • Is it real? Yes. The episode credits say the footage was provided by Rockstar Games.
  • What it shows: Jason and Lucia on a crowded Vice City beach, a dog owner bagging his German Shepherd’s mess, and Jason grabbing the dropped poop to throw at the owner and then use it as a melee weapon.
  • Launch: GTA VI releases November 19, 2026, on Xbox Series X|S. Pre-loading starts November 12.

What the clip shows

In the episode, the characters gather around a TV to watch the footage while the show talks up GTA VI’s “next-level” features. A woman explains the gag as it plays: “You can throw things at the person with dog poop,” per Polygon’s account of the scene.

Here’s how it plays out:

  • Jason and Lucia walk a packed beach in Vice City behind a German Shepherd and its owner.
  • The dog does its business, and the owner picks it up.
  • Jason throws something at the owner, the owner drops the bag, and Jason picks up the mess himself.
  • He lobs it at the man from a distance, then slaps him with it up close. Notebookcheck notes the NPC gets visibly agitated and Jason keeps going anyway.

Behind the joke, the clip is a real tech flex. The beach is packed with NPCs of all different body types, some react to Jason with dialogue, and footprints show up in the sand. That matches what Edge reported this week about Leonida’s people: every pedestrian art-directed, around 600,000 animations, and personality traits that shape how they react to you.

RockstarINTEL also posted a fuller cut that includes some driving, and says the woman narrating the clip in the episode is voiced by Tish Hicks, the voice behind GTA V’s gameplay video narration.

GTA 6 has been South Park’s running joke all season

This isn’t a random cameo. South Park has used GTA VI as a running bit all season. The premiere kept insisting things would “get better in November,” a nod to the launch, and GTA BOOM notes the show also tied the game’s November arrival to the midterm elections on November 3. Notebookcheck points to a September 30 episode worrying a power outage could stop players from saving, and a GTA VI sign tied to the elections in the October 14 episode. This episode is the first time the show used Rockstar’s own footage instead of just a verbal jab.

South Park has done this with Rockstar before. In 2018, the two-parter “Time to Get Cereal” and “Nobody Got Cereal?” built a whole storyline around Red Dead Redemption 2 as that game launched.

Rockstar’s final-stretch marketing is everywhere

This is the fourth official look at GTA VI gameplay, per Radio Times, after the trailers and the Netflix “GTA 6: An Extended Look.” It also lands the same week Edge’s 16-page cover story went free to read with 90 minutes of hands-on with the current build, and while Rockstar has been dressing up parts of Miami as Vice City. GTA BOOM also points to Saturday Night Live turning the game into a Weekend Update bit.

OnPoint’s take: Rockstar is in full flex mode and we love it. Most studios would kill for one primetime TV spot. Rockstar gets a South Park storyline, hands over 17 seconds of real footage, and the whole internet is talking about dog poop physics the next morning. That’s the power of GTA. It’s not just a game anymore, it’s pop culture.

And don’t sleep on what’s actually in that clip. Look at how many people are on that beach, all moving, all different, some of them talking back. That’s the stuff we’ve been hearing about from Edge all week, and now we’ve seen it running. If a throwaway joke clip looks this good, the full game on Series X is going to be something else. GTA VI is a Rockstar game, so nobody gets to call it an exclusive, but it is one more massive reason to have your Xbox ready on November 19. Clear that storage now, fam, because pre-loading starts November 12 and you are not going to want to wait.

What a time to be a gamer.
