A longtime Rockstar dataminer says Grand Theft Auto VI currently has 55 achievements configured, with 54 low values and one oddball set at 1,000. Rockstar hasn't revealed the list, but with launch 12 days out, Xbox achievement hunters just got a first look at the size of the hunt.

Grand Theft Auto VI’s achievement list is starting to take shape before Rockstar has said a word about it. Dataminer Tex2 (@TexFunz2) says the game currently has 55 achievements configured, and fan site iGrandTheftAuto pushed the find out to the wider community Saturday evening, November 7, at 6:58 PM ET. Rockstar hasn’t published the list or commented, so treat this as a rumor until the official achievements go live. Still, it is a specific, technical detail, and it gives Xbox players a first sense of what the hunt in Vice City could look like.

The most interesting part is how those 55 are set up. In his post, Tex2 wrote that “54 of them range from 1 to 54, while one is set to 1000, which is likely a ‘Complete all other achievements’ achievement or a placeholder for a mythic achievement on Xbox.”

That detail is also why nobody should read those numbers as final Gamerscore. Add up 1 through 54 and you get 1,485 points, already well past the 1,000 Gamerscore an Xbox game usually launches with, before you even count the 1,000-point outlier. Those values look unfinished, not like the real point split. The count is the part that tells you something. The 1,000-point entry is the wild card, and Tex2 himself floats two very different explanations: a classic “unlock everything else” capstone, or a placeholder for something special on the Xbox side. Neither one is confirmed.

What 55 slots does suggest is that Rockstar is setting up a full, meaty list for a game that launches November 19. For the completionist crowd, that is the exciting part, and it makes the eventual names and descriptions worth waiting for.

There’s another early hint floating around too. GTA leaker Nima (@nima02l) posted Saturday morning that the list “will be revealed soon,” that there are “no story spoilers among them except some gameplay mechanics with side-mission/collectable spoilers,” and that the first one is called “Welcome to Vice City.” That is unconfirmed as well, but if it holds, spoiler-shy players should be able to browse the list without the ending getting blown, and side missions and collectibles sound like a real part of the hunt.

Put together, the count looks like the solid piece of this rumor, the point values look like work in progress, and the 1,000-point mystery is the one to watch. Until Rockstar’s list is official, all of it stays in rumor territory.

Xbox players, get the controller charged. If this holds, Vice City is about to be one of the biggest Gamerscore hunts of the year.
