Hello Games' free Halloween update, version 7.10, adds spooky traders, biomechanical ship parts, space courier missions, and a feature players have wanted forever: flying straight to the stars you can see.
No Man’s Sky just got its fifth major update of 2026, and it’s a spooky one. FORSAKEN (Update 7.10) landed on October 28, and Hello Games founder Sean Murray broke it down himself on Xbox Wire. It’s free for everyone who owns the game, and No Man’s Sky is on Game Pass.
What you need to know
- What: FORSAKEN, Update 7.10, a free content update.
- When: out now (October 28, 2026).
- Where: Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC and Game Pass, plus other platforms. The full game also launched on iOS with this update, per Hello Games.
- Theme: dark, creepy deep space. It builds on last month’s COSMOS update, which Murray says brought “a huge uplift in XBOX and Game Pass Travellers old and new.”
The new stuff
Forsaken traders and haunting mementos
- Bizarre biological samples now show up in deep-space hulks, infested outposts, derelict freighters and planetary dig sites.
- Harvest too long and you’ll draw hostile “boundary horrors.”
- Trade the mementos to forsaken traders, who you can summon at space outposts, for spooky corvette modules: cockpits, habs and biomechanical hull pieces.
- Grind it out and you earn the Larva Tank helmet and the Mind Harvester title. Bring enough preserved grubs and you can buy the Larva Cannon Multi-Tool.
New corvette parts
- New cockpits: Vantage (ultra-wide view), Hornet (insect look, three variants), Viper (three variants) and Mantis (three variants).
- Legion-class interiors with a cruiser-style look.
Gameplay and quality of life
- Seamless warping: nearby stars show up as targets in deep space and you can fly straight to them without opening the Galaxy Map.
- Space courier missions: take package delivery jobs from deep-space outposts (you need a corvette and a Gravitino Coil).
- Minimal HUD mode: trims the compass, hazard bars and mission pop-ups for experienced players.
- Radial weapon wheel for Multi-Tool modes.
- Deep-space Holo-Arena creature battles at outposts.
- Uploadable space bases so other players can visit your orbital builds.
- The Oxygen Harvester can now be built anywhere on a planet’s surface, not just in a base.
Xbox-specific fix: the patch notes list “a significant memory optimisation on Xbox Series,” per Hello Games.
In Sean Murray’s words
“Today, with the release of our next update, FORSAKEN, we’re staying in space but things have got a whole lot…darker!” Murray wrote on Xbox Wire. He says FORSAKEN is the team’s fifth major update this year, after REMNANT, XENO ARENA, THE SWARM and COSMOS, and that Hello Games is “already deep in planning for what sort of craziness we can get up to in 2027.”
OnPoint’s take: Hello Games is the gold standard for supporting a game after launch, and it’s not close. Five major free updates in one year, ten years in, is wild. Seamless warping is the real headline here. Flying straight to a star you can see is the kind of thing that makes space feel like space. And with No Man’s Sky on Game Pass, there’s zero reason not to jump back in for some Halloween horror in orbit. What a time to be an Xbox fan.
