Original Xbox Games Are Showing Up on Achievement Lists, and OG Cheevos Look Close

Original Xbox games Psychonauts, Morrowind and Halo with an Xbox achievement pop-up

Classic games like Psychonauts, Morrowind and Republic Commando are popping up in players' achievement pages with 0/0 next to them. Xbox already promised achievements for select original Xbox games this year.

Xbox players are spotting something new in their achievement history: original Xbox games. Posts on X and Reddit show titles like Psychonauts, Destroy All Humans, Star Wars Republic Commando and The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind sitting on their achievement pages, per Pure Xbox. GamingBible says screenshots also show Black and Ninja Gaiden Black, and Generacion Xbox lists both Knights of the Old Republic games, Star Wars Battlefront II, MX Unleashed and Full Spectrum Warrior among the names players are sharing.

Here’s the catch. Every one of these entries shows 0/0 achievements and 0 Gamerscore. Nothing is unlockable yet, and Xbox hasn’t said anything about these new entries. They could be early groundwork, or they could be showing up by mistake.

What is confirmed: back in July, Xbox launched Backward Compatibility on PC with four original Xbox games (BLiNX: The Time Sweeper, Conker: Live and Reloaded, Crimson Skies: High Road to Revenge and Fuzion Frenzy). In that Xbox Wire post, Jason Ronald, VP of Next Generation at Xbox, wrote: “later this year we will be bringing one of the top fan-requested features to select original XBOX games on both console and PC: Achievements. The first four games releasing in preview today will be updated to include Achievements in the coming months.”

So far, only those four are officially lined up for achievements. Xbox has not said which other original Xbox games will get them or when. The timing lines up nicely with Xbox’s 25th anniversary on November 15.

This is the kind of move that makes being an Xbox fan for 25 years pay off. Your old library isn’t just playable, it’s getting brought into the modern era, and nobody else in console gaming treats its history like this. Going back to Morrowind or Republic Commando and actually chasing Gamerscore? That’s a banger of an idea. These 0/0 entries aren’t confirmation for every game on the list, so don’t start planning your completions just yet, but with the anniversary right around the corner, my bet is Xbox has something big lined up. Let me know in the comments which OG game you’d hunt first.
